Server Limitations #

To maintain high tick rates, technical stability, and economic balance, PurpurMC enforces specific technical constraints and custom game mechanics.

1. Nether Ceiling Restrictions #

• Access Permitted: Climbing above the bedrock ceiling in the Nether is allowed.
• Block Placement Prohibited: You cannot place any blocks or construct structures on top of the Nether roof. Building bases or automated farms on the ceiling is strictly prevented.

2. Redstone & Piston Limitations #

To prevent physics exploits and server strain, the following piston rules apply:

• Moss Blocks: Pistons cannot push or pull moss blocks.
• Waterlogged Blocks: Pistons cannot push or pull waterlogged blocks (such as water-filled slabs or stairs).

3. Mob & Villager Stacking Limits #

• Regional Entity Limit (5x5 Area):

A compact area (e.g. 5x5 blocks) can hold a maximum of 40 mobs of the same species. When this threshold is exceeded, newly spawned or bred entities of that species are automatically culled.

• Independent Species Count:

Limits are counted per species. For example, 30 sheep, 30 cows, and 30 chickens can coexist in the same compact pen without any being removed.

• Farmer Villagers:

Farmer villagers will not perform planting and harvesting duties unless an active player is nearby.

• Unrestricted Systems:
• Iron Golem Farms: Iron farms function 24/7 without limitations.
• Villager Restocking: Villagers restock their trades twice daily without interruption.

4. End Portals & Access #

• Magic Chorus Requirement: Access to the custom End dimension is granted exclusively by consuming a Magic Chorus fruit.
• Stronghold Portals: Entering a traditional End Portal frame in an Overworld stronghold will not transport you to the End. Instead, it teleports you to the End System information pavilion at spawn, where you can review access criteria.

5. Elytra Restrictions #

• Permitted Dimensions: Elytra flight is restricted exclusively to the Overworld and Nether.
• Disabled Dimensions: To preserve exploration progression and combat balance, Elytra flight is completely disabled in the End dimension, FFA Arena, and 1v1 Duels.
• Guardian Rank Requirement: To equip and fly with an Elytra, you must achieve the in-game Guardian rank. Even with a VIP membership, the Guardian rank is strictly required.

6. World Borders #

Server world limits are configured as follows:

• Overworld: Border is set to 64,000 (-64,000 to +64,000 coordinates; 128,000 blocks wide).
• Nether: Border is set to 8,000 (-8,000 to +8,000 coordinates; 16,000 blocks wide).
• End Dimension: Border is set to 10,000 (-10,000 to +10,000 coordinates; 20,000 blocks wide).
