PvP Protection #

To safeguard new players from veteran ambushes and allow a smooth start, PurpurMC enforces an initial PvP Protection Shield.

1. How Initial Protection Operates #

When you join the server for the first time, your PvP status is DISABLED by default:

  • Other players cannot hit, damage, or attack you.
  • Likewise, a protected player cannot strike or damage other players.

2. Automatic Protection Removal Criteria #

Your initial PvP protection lifts automatically only when both of the following conditions are simultaneously met:

  1. Playtime Duration: At least 3 full days (72 hours) have elapsed since your initial join date.
  2. Advancement Prerequisite: You have achieved the official Minecraft advancement "Cover Me in Debris" by equipping a full set of Netherite armor.

Once both conditions are fulfilled, the system turns your PvP on automatically.

3. Voluntary Early Activation & Irreversibility #

  • Manual Activation: Players who wish to engage in combat immediately can disable their protection early at any time by typing /pvp.
CAUTION
Once PvP protection is disabled, it can NEVER be re-enabled. This prevents players from turning off PvP mid-battle when low on health to escape consequences. Once in combat, Combat Rules (12-second combat tag) apply.

4. PvP Rules by Dimension & Territory #

  • Claimed Lands: Inside any Land Claim, PvP is strictly and permanently disabled.
  • Arena & 1v1 Dimensions: In the FFA Arena (/arena) and 1v1 Duels (/1v1), beginner protection does not apply. All players can fight freely regardless of protection status.
  • End Dimension & Central Spawn Hub: In the End dimension and at the central spawn hub (0, 0), player-versus-player damage is completely disabled. No player can harm another in these areas.
